FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Fort Campbell Historical Foundation held a Topping Out Ceremony and sneak peek on Friday for the new Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum.

More than 200 members of the military along with leaders from the communities surrounding Fort Campbell were in attendance. After the ceremony, guests were offered lunch and tours of the building. When completed, it will be one of the few showcase museums in the nation for the U.S. Army.

The museum will specifically highlight the 101st Airborne Division, 5th Special Forces Group and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

Retired Maj. Gen. Brian Winski, president of the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation, previously served as commanding general on post and said he has a passion for the Army and a passion for the units that call Fort Campbell home.

“What it really means to me is that we now have a venue where we can share the history and legacy of these great units with the community, with the rest of the Army, and with all the soldiers on Fort Campbell. It’s going to educate, it’s going to honor, it’s going to inspire through that legacy and history. I’m just excited that we are going to have a world class facility to do that,” Winski said.

During the Topping Out Ceremony, representatives from Hankook Tire presented a check for $30,000 to the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation to help establish the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum.

The museum is located just off Fort Campbell Boulevard at Tiny Town Road. With construction on the museum moving ahead, the projected opening of the museum is March 2026.
