CLARKSVILLE, TN − The Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes (TSVH) has announced that its Clarksville facility has been named a recipient of the 2025 Bronze Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

The Bronze Award, the first in a rigorous three-step progression of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, acknowledges organizations that demonstrate a strong foundation in performance improvement and a steadfast commitment to quality care. Applicants must clearly define their mission, identify key challenges, and illustrate how these elements relate to continuous organizational development. The program is modeled after the renowned Baldrige Performance Excellence framework.

Under the leadership of Administrator Suzanne Hogan, a dedicated team of employees invested nearly two years into compiling a thorough and compelling application.

“We could not be prouder of our Clarksville team,” said TSVH Executive Director, Ed Harries. “Their passion for quality care and their relentless pursuit of excellence reflect the core values of our organization and honor the service of the veterans we care for daily.”

The AHCA/NCAL represents over 15,000 non-profit and proprietary care facilities across the country, collectively serving nearly 5 million seniors and individuals with disabilities each year. Through its Quality Award Program, AHCA/NCAL fosters continuous improvement across the long-term care profession, ultimately enhancing outcomes for those in care.

In addition to receiving this prestigious national honor, the Brigadier General Wendell H. Gilbert Tennessee State Veterans’ Home has earned numerous local accolades. In the 2024 Clarksville’s Best Awards, presented by Five Star Media Group, the home was named the Silver Winner for Best Nursing Home. This year marks an exciting milestone, as the Veterans’ Home has been nominated for the first time in two Clarksville’s Best categories: Top Place to Work 100+ Employees and Best Nursing Home.
