NASHVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Tennessee Craft Week (TCW) shines a spotlight on the art of handmade crafts, October 2-11, 2020, in conjunction with American Craft Week, promoting unique artisan craft across the nation.
The Tennessee craft legacy was born from the hills of the Smoky Mountains and continues to evolve as artists create new works across the state. This sixth annual celebration of craft is designed to connect and celebrate craft artists, the work they produce and the businesses that support them.
Partnering with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Tennessee Craft as well as numerous artists have garnered national attention, earning American Craft Week Star Awards for the past five years. Hundreds of accomplished craft artists participate in TCW, sharing their vision and demonstrating their art at 88 events across the state last year. TCW demonstrates the financial and creative impact that “Made in Tennessee” craft culture brings to Tennessee’s community, economy and vibrant quality of life.
Tennessee Craft Executive Director Jennifer Justice says, “Tennessee Craft Week is an exciting and important program that not only showcases the talent and creativity of hundreds of craft artists but highlights the remarkable craft legacy throughout Tennessee.”
All craft artists and galleries statewide are encouraged to register Virtual Events, Lectures, Online Classes, Exhibitions and Virtual Gallery Tours with Tennessee Craft to benefit from promotional campaigns designed to spotlight their efforts. Artists who register their “virtual event” will be listed on the TCW website, TCW event calendar, and on the Online Artists Gallery. Participating artists and venues will be eligible to nominate their event for a National Award. All events (virtual and live) will be promoted on social media platforms, on the TCW online roadmap with event details, artist’s name and location, in the TCW event calendar, and also in the TCW event listing on TNvacation.com.
