CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A teenager wanted on gun charges was arrested after a pursuit by Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies that ended with a crash.

At about 5 p.m. Monday, near Purple Heart Parkway and Fort Campbell Boulevard, deputies saw a vehicle that matched one described in recent shootings at residences in Montgomery County, according to MCSO Sgt. Bishop Delaney.

Deputies activated their lights and sirens and tried to make a traffic stop. The vehicle sped away, and deputies pursued. The vehicle ran through a red traffic light at Jordan Road and continued down Purple Heart. Deputies ended the pursuit due to the reckless driving of the vehicle in heavy traffic, Delaney said.

Deputies went to the Dotsonville Road area based on intel from the Criminal Investigations Division. The suspect vehicle was seen on Moore Hollow Road at about 5:10 p.m., and a patrol deputy tried to stop it. The vehicle fled again but crashed after a short time. One suspect remained with the vehicle and was detained, Delaney said. A second suspect, Josue Batista, 18, fled into the woods but was apprehended a few minutes later.
