CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A 14-year-old girl was transported by ambulance to a Nashville hospital after being hit by a truck while riding a Razor scooter in Clarksville.
Three teenagers were crossing Wilma Rudolph Blvd on Razor scooters Monday around 4:42 p.m. Police said the teens had crossed the southbound lanes of Wilma Rudolph and were crossing in between the two stopped northbound vehicle lanes.
One of the teens entered the northbound right turn lane into the path of an oncoming pickup, driven by a man in his 50s who was turning from Wilma Rudolph Blvd onto Dunbar Cave Rd.
Because the scooter rider appeared in front of the pickup so quickly, there was insufficient time for the driver to avoid a crash.
The investigation is ongoing. It is unclear if any charges will be filed.
