HOPKINSVILLE, Ky (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A 19-year-old female has been charged with murder in a shooting overnight that left one dead in Hopkinsville.

Anshanique “Fish” Leavell was arrest around 1:30 a.m. in Hopkinsville and charged with murder and receiving stolen property. She was in possession of a stolen handgun.

Hopkinsville Police responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment off Greenville Road just before midnight. Upon arriving at the scene, police found Amareya Freeman , 23, unresponsive on the ground with what appeared to be a gunshot wound in the chest.

Freeman was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and where he was pronounced dead from the injury, police said.

Investigation led police to Leavell. She was booked into Christian County Jail.
