CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville Association for Down syndrome (CADS) is kicking off their Annual Technology for Teachers grant program,
Technology for Teachers is a grant-based initiative to provide special education teachers with touch screen tablet technologies to support the academic and social success of children with Down syndrome and other special needs. The technology must be used for developmental and educational activities which enhance the applicant’s ability to deliver instruction to students.
Applicants for the grant must indicate how the tool will be used in the classroom including specific applications to achieve classroom goals. Grant applications are now live on the CADS website and will be open till October 20th.
CADS is committed to improving the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities through community programs and family connections. Funding is made possible through community support and a community grant through the UPS foundation.
The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its backing clearly impacts social issues. In support of this strategic approach, The UPS Foundation has identified the following focus areas for giving: nonprofit effectiveness, encouraging diversity, community safety and environmental sustainability.
“The UPS Foundation is honored to support the efforts of CADS and their Technology for Teachers program,” said Eduardo Martinez, president of The UPS Foundation. “Our goal is to fund powerful programs that make a lasting difference to the global community.”
