CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is responding to an officer-involved shooting in Montgomery County.

TBI agents are responding to the shooting on I-24 near exit 11.

The Nashville man wanted for questioning in connection with Nashville robberies was captured by deputies in Clarksville.

According to Metro police, a Kia Soul with a Florida tag was spotted shortly after a May 20 armed robbery of a man in the parking lot of his Bell Road apartment complex. Officers tried to stop the Kia, but it got away.

Tuesday evening, Juvenile Task Force officers said they found the Kia on Clarksville Pike at Cliff Drive and tried to stop it. The car instead engaged in a pursuit that was terminated by police when the suspect began driving the wrong way down Briley Parkway.

Police said an MNPD helicopter began monitoring the car as it traveled on to I-24 W, exited the interstate into Robertson County, got back on I-24, and then got off at exit 4 in Montgomery County. The helicopter saw the driver bail out of the Kia in a neighborhood and run toward a wood line.

Authorities in Montgomery County said they found a gun in the suspect’s last known area.

The suspect was eventually captured in the 6000 block of Todd Drive.
