Dewayne Halfacre, 43, and Jonathan Baxter, 28, assaulted a guard at the Rutherford County jail and scaled a razor wire fence early Wednesday.
Rutherford County Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh said in a Facebook post that the inmates overpowered an officer, climbed over a razor wire and escaped early Wednesday from the jail in Murfreesboro. The deputy was treated for minor injuries Wednesday and released from a hospital.
Several police agencies searched the area with assistance from K-9 officers and a helicopter from TBI.
The reward for information leading to either man’s arrest was up to $5,000 each. Information about their capture has not been released at this time.
