Tayloe Barrett Jackson, 68, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on December 1st.
Born and raised in Clarksville, Tayloe entered the world on July 5, 1955. She attended Clarksville schools for most of her education, including graduating from Austin Peay State University, from which she went on to pursue a career in special education.
She married her first husband and gave birth to three sons.
In 1995, she met Ed Jackson, the love of her life, and they were married in 2002. Ed’s career moved the family across different states, but Tayloe never forgot her Tennessee roots and they returned to Clarksville in 2006.
Though retired as a teacher, Tayloe was a born educator and continued tutoring young family members and friends’ children. She also shared her love of knowledge with her own grandchildren when she became a “Mimi” to Jameson in 2015 and a “Mim” to Nate and Noah in 2019, reading the twins their first stories even before they were born.
Tayloe was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bud” and Fannie Barrett, beloved husband Ed Jackson, sister Julie Grinalds, and nephew Alan Francis.
She is survived by her sister Terri Pulley; sons, Jamie (Heather), Ryan (Stormy), and Scott (Caitlin) Baird; and grandsons, Jameson, Nathaniel, and Noah Baird.
Tayloe will be remembered for her loving nature and for her long-held belief that one should “never stop learning.” Her memory and legacy live on in those who were privileged to know and love her.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Tayloe’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
