Talmadge “Joe” Ray Tinsley, age 78, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at his residence.
Joe was born January 30, 1936, in Goodlettsville, TN, to the late William Jessie Tinsley and Maudie Louise Walker Tinsley. He was also preceded in death by son, Mike Tinsley; four brothers, J.D. Tinsley, Junior Tinsley, Leslie “Alec” Tinsley, and William Tinsley; and sister, May Belle Conatser.
Joe was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Trane Company.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 10 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. Craig Cross and Bro. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, and from noon until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Scott Harrison, Venn Biter, Christopher Jackson, Joshua Cross, Daniel Cross, and Billy Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Cross, Jacob Cross, Michael Cross, Dylan Cross, and Presley Cross.
Joe is survived by two sons, Craig (Renae) Cross and Bradley Cross, both of Clarksville; two sisters, Elise (Earl) Harrison and Elsie Bea McCormick, both of Clarksville; seven grandchildren, Michael Cross, Daniel (Stephany) Cross, Dylan Cross, Presley Cross, Joshua Cross, Jacob Cross, and Justin Cross; and his friend of 12 years, Linda Wilkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
