CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Following his performance at the Olympic Swimming Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Blake Amlicke has been invited to represent the United States at the 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships as a member of the junior national team.

“I feel honored and blessed to be a member of the U.S. Junior National Team,” Amlicke told Clarksville Now. “It has been one of my goals since I was a kid. I am excited to compete and represent the United States.”

Amlicke had the fastest time in the 100M backstroke for anyone under the age of 18 at the Olympic trials and was only six spots off of qualifying for the finals.

Blake will now compete in Canberra, Australia, on August 21 through the 24, for a shot at a junior championship for the United States. Amlicke will train for two weeks prior to the competition at the Olympic training center in Colorado Springs. If he swims fast enough, he will be eligible to also compete in the 400 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay.
