CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to a report of a suspicious-looking substance Monday afternoon.
Fire Marshal Ray Williams said an individual turned in a plastic bag filled with white powder at the BP gas station at Exit 11 sometime around 2 p.m.
“We have to treat it as a hazardous materials incident. It could be nothing or it could be something,” Williams said.
A Hazmat team and Montgomery County Emergency Management were called in to test the substance. After three tests were performed the white powder was found not to be hazardous.
Williams said it was still unclear what exactly the substance was, however.
