HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – On Friday October 9, 2015, at approximately 6:57 p.m., Trooper Billy Over with Kentucky State police (KSP) attempted to stop a vehicle for a minor traffic violation on the Pennyrile Parkway in Christian County. Instead of stopping, the vehicle sped up and began to flee.

Other troopers deployed road spikes into the path of the fleeing vehicle. After hitting the road spikes, the vehicle continued to flee North on the Pennyrile Parkway until it failed to make a U-turn near the 42 mile marker.

The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Latasha Adamson of Providence, KY, and the only passenger, 27-year-old Joshua Rheinlander of Evansville, IN, exited the vehicle and began to flee on foot. After a short foot pursuit, both subjects were arrested without any further incident and booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center.

Adamson was charged with:

1) Fleeing/Evading, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle) x2
2) Fleeing/Evading, 1st Degree (On Foot)
3) Speeding x2
4) Criminal Mischief, 2nd Degree
5) Leaving the Scene of an Accident
6) Operating on a Suspended/revoked operator’s license
7) Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree
8) Failure to give right of way to an Emergency Vehicle
9) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs, 1st Offense, Aggravated

Rheinlander was charged with:

1) Outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear (Butler County)
2) Fleeing/Evading, 1st Degree (On foot)
3) Possession of Marijuana
4) Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree
