CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Sealed indictments have been issued for three suspects allegedly involved in a robbery at the Sterling Assisted Living Home this past September in Clarksville.
According to a news release, a 90-year-old victim reported that she was beaten and her ring was stolen on September 28, 2014. The victim sustained significant injuries to the right side of her face and her ear and was transported to Gateway ER by EMS. Test results revealed that she suffered from a broken orbital socket as well as a laceration and bruising.
Her 2-carat diamond ring was also missing from her middle finger.
Throughout the course of the investigation, police determined that Brittney Lee and Jackie Stevens, who were night staff care keepers at Sterling House at the time of the incident, were suspects in the robbery.
Police found that Lee’s boyfriend, Martavious Brooks, sold the ring to a diamond brokerage in Georgia. It has since been recovered.
Lee and Brooks were arrested Tuesday and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
Lee, a 26-year-old Clarksville resident, was charged with Robbery and Theft of Property with a $20,000 total bond amount. Brooks, a 32-year-old Clarksville resident, was charged with Robbery, Theft of Property, and Contempt with a total bond amount of $40,000.
Police are in the process of taking Stevens, a 29-year-old Clarksville resident, into custody. She will be charged with Robbery and Theft of Property with a $20,000 total bond amount.
