CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The stand-off at Motel 6 Friday morning with a bank robbery suspect is over.

Clarksville Police spokesman Jim Knoll says the man, identified as Mike Rollins, was taken into custody peacefully after tear gas was deployed in a room where he had barricaded himself early in the morning at the motel on Wilma Rudolph Blvd.

Rollins was reportedly armed and alone in the room. Guests in surrounding rooms were evacuated.

SWAT officers were called in to assist police.

Rollins was wanted for a robbery at Bank of America (1811 Madison Street) Thursday afternoon.

He faces charges of robbery, probation violation, and forgery.

The robbery occurred around 2:12 p.m. The suspect handed a note to the teller and demanded money. He did not display a weapon.

The suspect was given money and left the bank on foot, but he may have gotten into a light blue 4-door sedan.
