CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The suspect in the fatal shooting of a man who was a convicted sex offender at 1232 Paradise Hill Rd. has turned himself into police and is now in custody.
The incident occurred Tuesday just after 10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old male, identified as Aaron Johnson, who had been shot multiple times. He was transported by ambulance to Tennova Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation revealed that Rashaud D. Watson, entered the home, pulled out a gun, and fired at Johnson several times.
Police said Watson and Johnson knew each other.
Watson fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. He was thought to be in the company of 21-year-old Chrissy Huntley Johnson, who is the victim’s daughter.
Police were concerned for her welfare, but she has contacted police and will be interviewed. She is not considered a suspect and does not have a warrant for her arrest.
Watson, 25, has been taken into custody for interviews and will be charged with criminal homicide.

The victim, Johnson, is listed as a registered sex offender in the TN registry, with an address of 1232 Paradise Hill Rd. The registry says he was “violent against children.”
This was the third incident in Clarksville involving gunfire over the the past two days. On Monday an occupied vehicle was shot several times in the parking lot of a store at Trenton and Needmore Roads. Tuesday night, a teenager on a bicycle was shot on Vanleer St.
