HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Hopkinsville Police have arrested 21-year-old Brandon Demar Smith for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of Keon A. Grant on May 14.
According to a police report, 28-year-old Keon A. Grant was shot in the area of East 1st St. and Vine Street in Hopkinsville around 8:30 p.m. He was found and transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
A man who was at the residence near the location of the homicide, Cory Barnes, was arrested for providing false information to police. He claimed he was asleep at the time of the murder and said he had not seen either Grant or Smith that day. Police determined his story was false and charged him with hindering prosecution or apprehension.
Eyewitnesses at the scene named Smith as the shooter. He was taken into custody at the Christian County Jail. There is no further information at this time.
