CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – At approximately 8:30 a.m. on January 18, officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 12, east of Seven Mile Ferry Road, in which a 25 year old man driving a 2007 Ford Explorer went off the roadway and down an embankment

The driver, Tyler Vandlen, was already being treated by EMS when officers arrived. Based on information gathered during the investigation, the 2007 Ford Explorer was being driven erratically, before going down the embankment, striking a pole, and flipping. One witness claimed they never saw the brakes applied at any time before the accident.

It was also determined, Tyler Vandlen had snorted some sort of substance, prior to the crash.

When Vandlen was booked into the Montgomery County jail after being medically cleared, a white, powdery was found in his wallet.

Tyler Vandlen was charged with DUI, driver to exercise due care and contraband in a penal institution. His bond is set at $12,500.
