CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Ladies, you will want to mark your calendars for October 19th to attend the 7th annual Tickle Me Pink luncheon. Tickle Me Pink is a fundraiser for the After Breast Cancer (ABC) program at the Clarksville Area YMCA. The ABC program is a free, 16-week program for those who have been diagnosed, or are in remission from breast cancer. The program includes exercise classes taught by Pink Ribbon certified personal trainers, nutrition classes, lymphedema screenings, free custom wigs, and many other events where survivors can connect with each other.
The luncheon has been a benchmark event in the fundraising community in the past thanks to its fabulous shopping and entertainment, along with a special time to honor those who have been affected by breast cancer. Last year’s event raised over $30,000 in support for After Breast Cancer (ABC) program here in Clarksville.
This year’s luncheon will also feature the top ten winners of the Battle of the Bras competition. Battle of the Bras kicked off on October 2nd, with local businesses creating elaborately decorated bras for the ABC program. They will go on to raise money for ABC in their local businesses up until the week of the luncheon. The “Battle” will commence at Tickle Me Pink with special host, Charlie Koon, helping a panel of local judges decide who will take home the most coveted prize – Judges Choice. You can view and place your vote for your favorite bra online at the Q108 website now through October 18th or at participating businesses.
Be sure and come early to the event on October 19th! As always, we will have fabulous shopping starting at 11:00am with local vendors and the program starts at 12pm noon. You can expect to see all your favorites from years past, as well as a few new vendors bringing new fall merchandise. There will also be several silent auction baskets up for bid before the lunch, so come early and shop for some bargains.
Tickets are now on sale online and can be purchased at http://give.ymcamidtn.org/events/ticklemepink. For more information on the event, contact Amanda Cherry at the YMCA at 931-647-2376.
