CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club had to postpone its annual Labor Day Bicycle Tour on Saturday, September 2nd due to severe weather that hit the area closing some roads along the way for riders due to high water and debris. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 16th and will be held at Rossview High School on Rossview Road in Clarksville. There will be a self-paced 100-mile, a 62-mile and finally a family friendly ride of 33-miles.
“We regret that we had to postpone the ride but it was for the safety and convenience of all of our riders, stated David Davenport, Sunrise Rotary Club president. “There are a couple of things for participants to know with the planned rescheduled ride.”
• If a rider was registered for the original date and they want to ride on September 16th they need to do nothing different just come out on the 16th and ride.
• If a rider was registered and cannot now ride on the 16th, we will issue them a refund or can send them a shirt in the mail if they prefer.
• Riders that had not previously registered but are now interested can register by mail no later than the 15th or in person on the 15th at LaQuinta Inn on Holiday Dr., or the 16th at the ride for $50 for both the 100-mile and 62-mile rides or $40 for the 33-mile ride.
Funds raised during the event support many local groups and Rotary initiatives to include Buddy Ball, Loaves and Fishes, Urban Ministries, Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, Rotary Splash Pad and the new planned community all access playground. “We do hope everyone will be able to join us on September 16th for the ride and to help support the event continued Mr. Davenport.
