CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Strong storms blew through Middle Tennessee Sunday afternoon, with many areas experiencing damaging winds. Part of Montgomery County was without power Sunday too.
Emergency Management reports downed trees and power lines but fortunately no injuries or damage to structures.
Ed Baggett, Director of Montgomery County Emergency Management said the storms hit Sunday afternoon between 4:00 to 4:30. “We did have some strong winds come through, straight line winds which took out a bunch of trees here and there. Also in that process took out some power lines with it,” Baggett said.
Baggett added that a total of around 6,000 people in the county were without power but electricity was restored in a short time with much of the tree and power line damage reported in the Cunningham and Palmyra communities.
