CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) Dozens of kids filled the playground area of Lincoln Homes Wednesday for an evening with Mayor Kim McMillan’s Summer Night Lights program. The event features, DJ’s, athletic competitions, arts and crafts, and music performances. The kids enjoyed inflatables, basketball, limbo, and many more fun activities. The event is free and is coordinated by the Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department with the help of local volunteers.

Food was provided by Manna Cafe Ministries and since it was a little hot, there was plenty of water for the children and adults to help keep them cool and hydrated. There were also a number of booths set up offering things for young children and teens to learn and enjoy a fun activity. Officers with the Clarksville Police Department were also on hand to have a little fun with those attending the event.

There are two more Summer Night Lights events scheduled this season. They are Monday, July 24 at Summit Heights, 20 Summit Heights and Wednesday, July 26 at Bel-Aire Park, 124 Marie Dr. from 5:30-9 p.m. For more information visit the Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department website at 931-645-7476 or visit www.cityofclarksville.com/parksrec.
