CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Hollingsworth Oil Company, operators of the Sudden Service Convenience Stores, presented a check for $14,000 to the Folds of Honor Foundation Monday at the Sudden Service Market, 3895 Trenton Road. Sudden Service worked with Budweiser and the Hand Family Companies, Coca Cola and Red Bull with the donation made possible through a fundraising campaign at the Sudden Service Markets.

The nonprofit Folds of Honor Foundation supports fallen soldiers through providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disablde service members. Rocky Sickmann, Senior Vice President of Budweiser’s Folds of Honor account talked about the donation.

“To me, raising this type of money, we’re changing lives together of the military men and women who have sacrificed so much,” said Sickmann. Sickmann added that when tragedy has occurred, when someone is lost or someone comes back disabled, we step in with Folds of Honor and we appreciate Sudden Service stepping up big time with $14,000 to help the organization.

Sickmann, a former sergeant with the Marine Corp., was one of the 52 hostages held in Iran from November 1979 to January 1981. He found out after he was freed that eight servicemen had lost their lives in 1980 in a failed rescue attempt and he said he would never forget the men and women who serve.
