CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police had to use tear-gas type irritants to force a man from his house after he fired gunshots at a neighbor’s car and pointed a gun at police.

Police responded to a call of shots fired on Lacy Lane at around 9:30 Monday night.

Police report that the suspect fired at a car with a man, his pregnant wife and a two-year-old child inside. One bullet hit the vehicle, but no one was injured.

Police say the man also pointed his gun at officers and went into his house where he barricaded himself inside for several hours.

Officers closed down the area while negotiators tried to talk him out and eventually used an irritant to force him out and place him in custody.

Davis

The man, identified as as 39-year-old John Davis from Jackson, TN, was later transported to Tennova Health Care for a mental evaluation.

Jackson has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of felony vandalism. He will also be charged with 14 counts of reckless endangerment and three other counts of felony vandalism. His total bond amount is $310,000.
