CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – This year in partnership with 5-Star Radio Group, Cornerstone Financial, Jostens, and Zaxby’s , the Education Foundation will benefit from another successful “Stuff the Bus” campaign.

The event held at three local Wal-Mart stores over a two-day period brought in the following;

$2,125 in cash donations
29,326 supplies to be stocked for the Teacher Warehouse
85 volunteers serving 256 hours

The event raised $1,225 more than last year and collected 2,500 more items.

The monetary increase was largely in part from the Stuff the Bus Candidate Challenge issued when Councilman Jeff Burkhart gave a $100 donation and asked all other candidates running for office to match his gift in support of the Teacher Warehouse. Other candidates who supported were: Carolyn Bowers, Jim Durrett, Robert Huffman, Bill Powers, Joel Wallace, and Tommy Vallejos. Other candidates have reached out and said they plan to give.

This event would not have been successful without the support of the community, sponsors and volunteers. The Education Foundation is thankful for each and every person who took part in this initiative.
