CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Students in Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools will be on remote again Monday, with some areas on campuses and side roads still hazardous with remaining ice and snow.

“Although the sun and warmer temperatures helped today, due to the amount of snow and ice Clarksville-Montgomery County received last week, there are still areas on our campuses and side roads that are hazardous for pedestrians and buses,” CMCSS said in an announcement.

“For all traditional and virtual students, teachers will continue communicating how to access lessons. If you have questions about accessing or submitting student work, please contact your child’s teacher(s). Curbside meals will not be distributed tomorrow.”

Schools should be able to open again in person on Tuesday.

“With continued warmer temperatures tomorrow and additional time for crews to clear campuses, we are hopeful to resume normal schedules on Tuesday. We will communicate with families tomorrow.”

Schools were on remote each day last week because of ice and snow.

County, city, state offices to reopen

Montgomery County and Clarksville City government offices will reopen Monday.

County, city and state crews worked aggressively over the weekend to clear snow from trouble spots, but the mayors urged residents to be cautious during the Monday commute.

“The work done by the county, city and state road crews has been outstanding, and we’re confident that with improving weather conditions, the community can return to normal activity levels this week,” County Mayor Jim Durrett said in a news release.

Mayor Joe Pitts thanked the road crews for their hard work. “These crews did great work for our community, and I’ve seen and heard many comments applauding their efforts,” Pitts said.

State-run COVID-19 vaccination and testing sites will also be open starting Monday.
