Strong to severe storms may produce damaging straight-line winds

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A strong cold front will come through Middle Tennessee Thursday evening.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front. Some of the storms will be strong to severe, with damaging straight-line winds as the primary threat.

Brief, localized flooding may also occur in heavy downpours. Peak time for thunderstorms will be during the late Thursday afternoon and evening.’

More showers are expected throughout the day Friday.
