At 3:36 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Murray, Kentucky, to Clarksville. Movement was south at 10 mph., with wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea-size hail.
“Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms,” the NWS said. “Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.”

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Strong thunderstorms are moving through parts of Montgomery County this afternoon.
At 3 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Land Between the Lakes to Fort Campbell, according to the National Weather Service. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.

The storm could bring wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea-size hail.
“Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible,” the NWS said.
Trigg County, Kentucky, is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
Montgomery County remains under a Heat Advisory through 7 p.m. At 3 p.m., the temperature was 93 degrees, with a heat index of 105 and 56% humidity.
