CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Last week in their matchup against Rockvale, the Wildcats put an end to their two-game losing skid with a convincing 45-10 win. Clarksville (2-2) will have its work cut out for them as they host Henry County (2-2) who have dominated Region 7-5A in recent memory. The Patriots enter Friday’s contest coming off an impressive 21-14 victory over Brentwood. The Wildcats will look to get the ball into the hands of Quantae Hicks who accounted for 267 yards and three touchdowns last week.

In another rivalry game this week, Montgomery Central (3-1) takes on undefeated Creek Wood (4-0) Friday on “The Hill”. LaKendriez Sanders rejoined the Indians backfield last week against Northwest and had a field day, rushing 28 times for 181 yards and two scores. The Red Hawks have been impressive on both sides of the ball this season, outscoring their opponents 140-41 in four games. Look for Central to try and dominate time of possession and keep Creek Wood’s red-hot offense off of the field.

Northeast (0-4) hosts Dyer County (3-1) Friday in search for their first win of the year. Varsity inexperience has plagued Brandon Clark’s defensive unit to this point in the season, as the Eagles are allowing 33.5 points-per-game to opposing offenses. Eagles quarterback J’Lin Powell will need to find his wide receivers Tomario Vereen and Malik Rumble early and often to set the tone against the Choctaws.

West Creek (2-2) welcomes another tough opponent to their place Friday with Portland (3-1) heading to town. The Panthers handed Montgomery Central its lone loss on the year two weeks ago and are coming off a 31-7 win over Greenbrier in their previous game. The Coyote offense will likely run through its running back Yasir Thomas and for good reason. Thomas had a 72-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and also added a rushing TD in a 18-17 win over Cheatham County last week.

Rossview (2-2) heads into Week 5 with a .500 record on the season. The Hawks received a strong effort from their transfer quarterback Gabe Sibert last week in their win against Northeast. Sibert went 14-of-18 for 147 yards and two first-half touchdowns while also adding 47 yards rushing on the ground. This Friday, the Hawks host winless Station Camp (0-4) who’s lowly offense comes in averaging a minuscule 6 PPG.

After setting the field on fire through its first two games of the season, Clarksville Academy (2-2) has come back down to earth in its last two games, suffering a 32-28 loss last week on the road at Jackson Christian. The Cougars battled back after giving up 17 unanswered points to start the game, but their comeback fell short. CA sophomore Miller Barnett ran wild on the Eagles, finishing with 133 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns. This Friday, Clarksville Academy will look to get back on track as they host Trinity Christian Academy (1-3) who has dropped three straight games after winning its season opener.
