Update, 9:04 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has now been issued for Montgomery County until 10 p.m.

Update, 8:35 p.m.: A Tornado Watch has been issued for Clarksville-Montgomery County, as well as the other surrounding counties: Stewart, Robertson, Houston, Dickson and Cheatham. The watch is expected to expire at 3 a.m. tonight, according to AccuWeather.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A second round of storms will roll over Clarksville tonight, bringing a risk of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in Montgomery County.

Starting at about 6 p.m. Friday, there’s a low chance for discrete storms, according to the National Weather Service. The bigger risk is from about 8-10 p.m., when the more severe line of storms will reach the Clarksville area.

The main threat is damaging wind gusts of 65-plus mph and large hail up to 3 inches. There’s a 4 in 5 chance of Clarksville getting severe weather, with a medium chance of tornadoes.
