Update, 4:35 p.m.: Police have identified and arrested a Clarksville man they say attacked the clerk with a machete. Aaron Boodoosingh, 23, was charged with especially aggravated robbery.
Officers worked diligently throughout Tuesday night, quickly identifying both the suspect and the vehicle involved, Beaubien said. At approximately 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, officers located Boodoosingh at his residence and took him into custody without incident.

The store clerk remains hospitalized, but he is in stable condition, Beaubien said.
This remains an active investigation, and additional charges may be coming. Anyone with additional information or video footage is asked to contact Detective Lockerman at 931-648-0656, ext. 5299.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A store clerk was severely injured in a stabbing Tuesday night in north Clarksville.
At about 10:18 p.m., Clarksville Police responded to a reported stabbing at EZ Market, 1801 E. Boy Scout Road, according to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien. Officers found the store clerk with multiple stab wounds.
Due to the extent of his injuries, he was transported by Air Evac helicopter to a Nashville hospital. His injuries have since been determined to be non-life-threatening, and he was in stable condition Wednesday morning.
As officers continued their investigation, it was determined the stabbing occurred during an aggravated robbery. The investigation remains active.
