Clarksville, Tenn. – Stompfest for Christ, an event for those in Clarksville and the surrounding areas to enjoy live music and entertainment, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1 at the APSU Clement Auditorium.
Several churches will use their talents to worship through various means of entertainment. The show, now celebrating its 13th anniversary, will be family friendly with an admission price of $5. Refreshments will be available for purchase, as well as DVDs of the show.
Gospel comedian and entertainer John Keith will host. Keith says that he will bring “a nice mix of funny and song to the show.”
The show will start with live music from the gospel diva Dionne Jermia, singing cover songs as well as songs from her latest CD.
Other performances will include a solo dance piece from the Steven Hawkins and songs by family group New Fortune. New Fortune is a group of brothers that range from 11 to 17 years of age. Their sound is a blend of old school and contemporary music.
Groups scheduled to minister include crowd favorites “Crunk for Christ” from Westgate Christian Center, Garment of Praise from Columbia, TN, and for the first time, the Vessels of Faith from Christ the Healer.
The Danzoras de el Reino Ministry, the Littles of the Community Church and “Surrendered Mime”, will all be on stage as well, and the Alpha XI Steppers will perform after the praise and worship segment.
Local teen talent Mercedes Johnson will also be included in the show. She is a soulful singer who has recently released her first single.
