STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. – UPDATE (2/18): Sgt. Batton told ClarksvilleNow.com that authorities spoke to Michelle Stipkovich, who is “safe and sound” in Virginia.

The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a young woman who has been reported missing.

According to Sgt. Jody Batton, 18-year-old Michelle Stipkovich left her parents’ home Jan. 6. Sgt. Batton said she was reported missing Jan. 11 and had “prepared to leave” prior to going missing.

Stipkovich is a senior at Stewart County High School. She is described as a white female with blonde hair, 5’2″, and weighs 180 pounds.

“We have done everything in our power to try and locate her and are continually looking for her,” Sgt. Batton said. The Sheriff’s Office believes she may be in Clarksville.
