Wonderland Cafe: Step through the looking glass for pastries and full dining on Warfield

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As you travel down Warfield Boulevard in Clarksville, and it’s time for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and you want something tasty and unique for your meal, step through the looking glass into Wonderland Café.

Many people will remember the Looking Glass Restaurant at the site, and new owner and chef Jamie Donovan says Wonderland Café is sort of the child of the Looking Glass.

“I was the last executive chef for the Looking Glass, and I was given the opportunity to take over the restaurant and I did so. We wanted to get a little away from the Looking Glass and make it something new and different, so we went with Wonderland Café,” Donovan said.

Donovan said he has been cooking since he was 10 years old and is a graduate of the culinary program at Austin Peay State University. He worked at Chartwells for a while, then took over as the chef at Looking Glass before becoming the owner.

For the name of the restaurant, Donovan said he sort of kept with the theme from “Alice in Wonderland,” and the name Wonderland Café just came to him one day.

What’s on the menu

When it comes to their specialty dishes, Donovan says they are known for their pasta, and all of the pasta and sauces are made from scratch. Baked goods like cakes and pastries are another delicacy that he said a lot of people stop by to enjoy or take home.

“We have a beautiful outdoor garden area where people can sit and be away from the inside, be out in the open air, and we also have the koi pond,” said Donovan

Wonderland Café offers an event space that can be rented for parties, wedding receptions and other activities.

Wonderland Café is at 329 Warfield Blvd., Suite H. They are open Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Thursday-Saturday from 8 a.m.-10 p.m., and are closed on Sunday and Monday.

They offer online and carry out ordering as well as delivery with Doordash.
