ERIN, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – State Representative Jay Reedy officially announced Tuesday that he is seeking re-election to represent the 74th District as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2018.

“We have only just begun our fight for reform in the 74th District, and I’m here today to announce our work is far from finished,” Reedy said in a press release. “For far too long, the good people of Houston, Humphreys, and Montgomery Counties lacked a seat at the table where decisions were being made. Since I was elected, we’ve fixed that. I aim to continue that record of service in the General Assembly.”

Reedy was first elected to represent the 74th State House district in November of 2014. Since that time, he has quickly ascended the ranks of leadership within the House chamber.

“Our state has proven to be a model for achievement under conservative leadership. We absolutely must continue that track record,” Reedy said. “I will continue to back sensible initiatives that protect and advance Tennessee’s conservative values.”

Reedy is a cattle farmer and small business owner from Houston County. He resides in Erin with his wife, Vickie, and their three children. Reedy says he believes the common-sense, conservative values he’s learned over the years make him a consistent and effective voice for the people of the 74th District.

“I was given a mandate to reform, and that’s exactly what I’ve focused on at the State Capitol. Each time I speak with my neighbors about making Tennessee an even better place to live, work, and raise a family, it reconfirms the sense of purpose I feel to make a difference each and every day I have the privilege to serve the citizens of the 74th District. That is why I am, today, officially announcing my re-election campaign for State Representative,” Reedy said.
