CLARKSVILLE, TN − House Majority Whip Johnny Garrett, R-Goodlettsville, has named state Rep. Aron Maberry, R-Clarksville, to fill one of six Deputy Whip positions within the Tennessee House Republican Caucus of the 114th Tennessee General Assembly.
“I admire Rep. Maberry’s passion and dedication to serving the House Republican Caucus and the Volunteer State,” Garrett said. “I’m confident he and our other deputies will form an exceptional, effective majority whip team.”
As Deputy Whip, Maberry will assist in counting votes as well as communicating with members about the Republican supermajority’s position on issues or legislative initiatives of importance. He will support Garrett, who is the fourth-ranking officer of the House Republican Caucus.
“I’m grateful for the trust Rep. Garrett has placed in me for this leadership role,” Maberry said. “I look forward to working with my Republican colleagues to pass legislation that improves the lives of all Tennesseans.”
Maberry joins newly named Deputy Whips Renea Jones, R-Unicoi; Lee Reeves, R-Franklin; Michele Reneau, R-Signal Mountain; Rick Scarbrough, R-Oak Ridge; and Tom Stinnett, R-Friendsville.
