CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The next Student Traffic Awareness Training (STAT) class for teens will be held May 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grace Nazarene Church, 3135 Trenton Road.
The class is free for high school students between the ages of 15 and 19. Applications are available at Clarksville Police Headquarters, 135 Commerce St., or online.
Applications must be turned in at 135 Commerce St. in person or by mail. Those registered will not receive a phone call unless additional information is needed. Class changes can be found at the department’s website or Facebook page.
The STAT class is limited to 75 students and will cover the following:
• Speed Awareness
• Occupant Protection
• Underage Alcohol Prevention Awareness
• Pedestrian & Bicycle Safety
• Rules of the Road & Procedures
• Traffic Signs and Signals
• Tennessee Traffic Laws
• Driving Responsibly
• Driving Under the Influence
• Texting, Talking and Other Distractions While Driving
