Starbucks is closing close more than 8,000 stores across the U.S. on Tuesday to conduct anti-bias training after the arrest of two black men last month at one of its Philadelphia stores.
The plan has brought attention to the use of little-known world of “unconscious bias training” used by some corporations, police and other organizations.
It’s typically designed to get people to open up about implicit biases and stereotypes involving race, gender and other identities.
Starbucks operates three locations in Clarksville. According to it’s website, those locations will close at 2:30 p.m.
