CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – St. Bethlehem Seniors Girls won the Little League District 9 Championship on June 23-24 by going undefeated in the district tournament held at Woodlawn.
The win gave the girls the opportunity to play in the state tournament held July 7-9 in Bristol, TN.
The girls won their first game at the state tournament, beating the Portland All-star team 10-2. Unfortunately, they lost their second game to the Bean Station All-star team.
The girls showed great drive and determination to not let that affect them and fought their way back to the Championship game by beating the Bristol All-star team and eliminating them from the tournament.
St. Bethlehem led the Championship game 3-2 for 5 innings before Bean Station was able to get and secure the lead to win the State Championship. St. Bethlehem girls were runner-up in the state.
They exhibited great sportsmanship and character and we are proud of their accomplishments and representation for district 9 and the Clarksville community.
