CLARKSVILLE, TN − A new traffic signal is planned to go live at Trenton Road and the new Spring Creek Parkway on Feb. 5.
The signal will begin to flash on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and will continue to do so until about Feb. 5, according to a news release from the Clarksville Street Department. The purpose of flashing the first week is to prepare the public for the new intersection.
The Street Department will be modifying pavement markings along Trenton Road to allow the intersection to function properly. Drivers are asked to remain cautious and expect delays. Crews will work on the road between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to avoid interrupting school traffic.
Spring Creek Parkway
The new traffic signal is part of the Spring Creek Parkway project, which is included in the City’s Transportation 2020+ Plan.

The first phase of Spring Creek Parkway, which is nearing completion, runs from Trenton Road to Spring Creek. Phase 2 of the project will include the bridge over Spring Creek as well as the completed connection to Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. Phase 2 is expected to begin construction later this year. Ultimately the roadway will connect to Ted Crozier Sr. Boulevard.
The goal of the project is to help take traffic pressure off of those state highways, as well as Ted Crozier and Interstate 24 in Montgomery County.
