CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- As the sun rose over Ringgold Estates marking the start of a new day,  three young children woke early to write messages of hope, encouragement and love for their neighbors in Ringgold Estates.

Friday, March 27, wasn’t a special day, but it was another day of school being on break, parents working remotely and neighbors trying to create a new normal while social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus.

Emma, 10, her brother Gabe, 9, and their neighbor, Sky, 10, woke up at 5:45 a.m. and wrote chalk messages of hope and love all over their block in Ringgold Estates.

“You are Loved”

“Love Life”

“You are Amazing.”

Are some of the messages they left for their neighbors to see.

“They wrote all kinds of positive quotes telling the neighbors they are amazing and to smile and to have hope,” said Krystal Brown, Emma and Gabe’s mom.  “They talked last night and wanted the neighbors to know they are loved and thought about during this pandemic.”

Emma, Gabe, and Sky are all part of Clarksville School of Fine Arts and attend Ringgold Elementary.

Sa’Day Jackson, Sky’s mother, said her daughter was excited about doing something positive.

” …It helped bring a little enjoyment to everyone. That’s her personality. She loves to give,” Sa’Day Jackson. “It makes me know I’m raising her in a good community. We have neighbors who can communicate with each other and come together for each other. We are truly united even in the hard times.”

Jackson  watched the neighbors’ reactions from her office as they  strolled the sidewalks, stopping for a second to read the messages of positivity.

“It makes me happy  to know my daughter contributed to that,” she said.

Brown  said their caring hearts and small act of kindness meant a lot to many people.

“I love it! It makes me proud to be their mother,” Brown said.” I’ve watched a few neighbors this morning walk down the block reading everything and smiling. It makes me proud that my children have the ability to spread joy to others in such a crazy time.”
