Art students from Northeast High School have spread their painting talents on the CTS Spooky Special bus for Halloween.
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Spooky Special bus from Clarksville Transit System will once again run amok on the streets of Clarksville. For more than 30 years the CTS Spooky Special has traveled around the city offering free rides for Halloween.
On Thursday, 17 art students, grades 9-12, from Northeast High School spent part of their day applying their talents, as well as paint, to a CTS bus to create the Spooky Special.

“Our fabulous students are participating in the CMCSS bus mural challenge that was given us across the whole district from Clarksville Transit, and our students won,” said Rebecca Smith, an art teacher at NEHS. “Honestly, I am not surprised. We have the best, most talented students, impassioned students, and I am so proud of them,” Smith said.
Rhiannon Griffey, Paratransit Operations supervisor for CTS, said the bus will go around Clarksville for two days and will rotate on the routes served by CTS on Saturday and Monday.
“Any route the Spooky Special is on, our passengers ride for free. It’s a good thing for the city, it involves the community, and it’s really fun,” Griffey said.
