Katie Gambill and Eric Yow recently reviewed Smokin Chikin Rotisserie and Grill in Clarksville.

When looking for a local restaurant in Clarksville with lots of flavor and menu options, we recommend Smokin Chikin. Located at Exit One, on Tiny Town Road, this restaurant offers cuisine for all taste buds and dietary needs. With unique flavors from around the world, you can find a healthy meal or dine on comfort food. There is something on the menu for everyone.

The restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly, however, we wouldn’t call the restaurant cozy, but it is definitely casual. It’s what you’d expect from a restaurant in a strip center. When you walk in you are greeted with the delicious smell of smoked chicken. This is when you realize, this is going to be good. Their rotisserie chicken is cooked at the restaurant, so the aroma is a hint of what’s to come.

chicken plate

We decided to mix it up and try a variety of menu items, some healthy, some spicy, some Mediterranean flavors, and some comfort goods. There are so many items on the menu, it’s difficult to make a choice. So we didn’t. We ordered the hummus, street corn salad, broccoli, Tandoori wings, mild rotisserie chicken, Tabouli salad, and loaded BBQ chicken potato salad. We wanted to make sure that we got a variety of flavors and food.

We both agreed that the hummus was delicious. The best part of the hummus, was the pita bread. The pita bread was fresh and tender. The pita bread was delicious by itself. The street corn salad was an unexpected surprise. It has a southwest flavor with a creamy dressing and topped with crunchy tortillas chips. It is served cold, so it is a nice balance to spicy chicken. We chose the broccoli because who doesn’t need some green on their plate and with all the other food, why not balance it out with some healthy. We’re not normally broccoli fans but found their broccoli to be tender. Just the way we’d prefer it cooked.

rotisserie chicken

The rotisserie chicken and the Tandoori wings were delicious. When ordering these menu items, you have multiple flavors from which you can choose. We’d like to go back and try different flavors. Where Katie enjoyed rotisserie chicken the most, Eric enjoyed the Tandoori Wings. The spice of the Tandoori was a little too spicy for Katie, but Eric insists you’ll be licking the flavor off your fingers all day. We found the chicken to be juicy, yet crispy which was a nice contrast.

The Tabouli salad had a Mediterranean flavor but wasn’t one of our favorites. At first, we didn’t think we would enjoy the BBQ chicken potato salad, but it grew on us. The BBQ chicken potato salad could be a meal all its own and it’s definitely a comfort food. They have several options when ordering potato salads.

We did enjoy this restaurant and feel you could go over and over and not eat the same thing. The menu is large with a variety of flavors. We’d also like to mention that if you are on a special diet like Keto or Gluten Free, you can find something on this menu to fit your needs. We look forward to going back!

Out of everything, what would they make a meal from? He said: Tandoori wings with broccoli. He really enjoyed the spicy, yet crispy wings. She said: Mild Rotisserie Chicken, with a side of the street side corn, and hummus. She loved those pitas.
