CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Over the Fourth of July holiday period, pet owners should be aware that spent fireworks can be toxic to pets.
The American Veterinary Medical Association advises pet owners to check your yard for used or misfired fireworks to reduce exposure to toxic trash.
Fireworks contain hazardous chemicals and potentially dangerous heavy metals. When ingested, pets can develop gastrointestinal issues like vomiting, abdomen pain and bloody diarrhea.
