CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville Kiwanis Club recently welcomed Chief Warrant Officer, CWO-3 Bradley Fowers with the 5th Special Forces Group at Fort Campbell to their weekly meeting.
Fowers has served multiple deployments in the Middle East and was among the first U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan after 9-11. Their story is chronicled in the book “The Only Thing Worth Dying For” by Eric Blem.
The book is about the secret mission of Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) 574 into Afghanistan immediately after 9-11. The cover of the book features a photo of Fowers with the Special Forces team and Harmid Karzai who was later named president of Afghanistan.

Fower’s son Tanner, a student at Rossview Middle School, won the Kiwanis Club’s annual Veteran Essay Contest in 2016 after writing about his father.
