CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Special Forces Brotherhood Motorcycle Club held their annual Gold Star Memorial Concert Friday at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. The event was a fundraiser for the Special Forces Association Chapter 38 at Fort Campbell, a nonprofit organization that provides direct and continuous support to the Green Beret community and its families.

All of the proceeds from the Gold Star Memorial Concert goes to support the associations’ mission which includes caring for Gold Star Families. Gold Star Family is a modern reference that comes from the Service Flag that includes a blue star for every immediate family member serving in the armed forces of the U.S., during any period of war.

If that loved one died, a gold star replaced the blue star, which allowed members of the community to know the price that the family paid in the cause of freedom. There were Gold Star family members who attended the concert Friday in their honor and honoring the loss of their loved ones.

The evening featured live music from Odis Kohn, the Matt Poss Band, Mary Sarah from The Voice, and featuring headliners, Confederate Railroad. Also at the Gold Star Memorial Concert, a new 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle was given away from Appleton Harley Davidson.
