CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Soldiers And Families Embraced (SAFE) will offer three support groups this fall for military and their families.
Share-Listen-Learn is a peer informational and support group for those living with PTSD/TBI. It will take place every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at New Providence United Methodist Church starting September 2. Participants do not need to attend all the sessions to benefit from the group. Military couples and families can attend as needed to learn, share, and connect. Childcare will be provided. The group will not meet when Montgomery County schools are closed.
Two other groups, the Combat Veteran Support Group and SAFE Spouses, will have counselors to facilitate them. Participants for both groups will be screened and asked to attend the entire series of group sessions, and space is limited to 10 people for each group.
Couples are encouraged to attend the Combat Veteran Support Group, which is open to active duty, retired military or veterans. The group will meet Fridays from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. beginning September 11 at SAFE, located at 510 College Street.
The SAFE Spouses Support Group is open to spouses of active duty and retired military or veterans, as well as those who are affected by a military spouse’s PTSD. The group will meet Tuesdays from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. beginning September 8 at SAFE, located at 510 College Street.
