MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department will conduct a sobriety roadside safety checkpoint on Friday July 3 on Highway 79 north in Montgomery County.

According to THP, impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injures 305,000 others every year in the United States.

Troopers and Deputies will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment.

Officials say sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving.
