STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Stewart County Sheriff’s Department and Dover Police Department will conduct a sobriety roadside safety checkpoint during the week of December 19 on Highway 79 in Stewart County.

Officers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. They will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

THP says that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving.
